Voting in Granma, Cuba.

HAVANA, Cuba.-Today the conditions are prepared in Cuba for one of the most important stages of the electoral process: the nomination of candidates for delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of the People’s Power, from September 4 to 30.

Tomas Amaran, Vice President of the National Electoral Commission, told Radio Reloj that in constituencies with an area only, voters can nominate two to eight candidates, and added if the constituency is divided into more localities they can only nominate one person.

He said the nomination of candidates for delegates to the Municipal Assemblies is the basis of the electoral process, so it is important to propose people for their merits and commitment to the Revolution.

Amaran emphasized the support of the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution, which are direct protagonists of several activities of the electoral process.
