The Civil Defense National General Staff decreed this Friday the informative phase for the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Artemis, Mayabeque and Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality, before the advance of tropical storm Nate.

According to information from the Cuban National Forecasting Center, Irma continues to be an intense hurricane category five on the Saffir-Simpson scale, heading west-northwest, increasing travel speed to 26 kilometres per hour. It is expected that in the next 48 to 72 hours it will affect the eastern region of Cuba.
