Havana, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel highlighted on Tuesday the international community’s support against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba more than half a century ago.

‘Few issues arouse as much support in the international community as the call to end the U.S. blockade against Cuba,’ said the President on his Twitter @DiazCanelB.

‘We will continue to call unceasingly for the elimination of this genocidal, aberrant policy,’ said the Head of State in his message.

Previously, Diaz-Canel asserted that the U.S. government’s blockade has generated hardship and punished Cuban families.

He pointed out this hostile attitude is the essential and defining element of relations between Havana and Washington.

The Cuban leader described the White House’s policy against Cuba, which also alters the constitutional order, as cruel.

He also stated that the aggressive application of the blockade threatens the sovereignty and interests of all countries.
