HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuba’s President, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, highlighted this Tuesday in Havana the international support Cuba receives due the sanctions of the United States Government.

Through a message on Twitter, the Cuban head of State emphasized that the island has the almost unanimous support of nations, which annually demand in the UN General Assembly the end of the blockade imposed almost six decades ago.

With their vote, they evince the isolation of such a cruel policy. No to the Helms-Burton Act, no more blocking, we are Cuba, the President added to his account.

In the most recent vote in United Nations last November, 189 countries declared themselves against the unilateral measure, considered by the Cuban authorities as the main obstacle to the country’s economic development.
