HAVANA, Cuba. – Last year there were more than 61 thousand 900 hundred marriages in Cuba, a figure very similar to that recorded in 2015, according to data published by the National Bureau of Statistics and information.

Non-formalization of marriage; however, that is not an aspect to ignore, because conjugal union is important when establishing both parties´ rights.

Marriage also facilitates the determinations in patrimonial issues and inheritances, pensions, the situation of minor children, and contributes to limiting problems of diverse nature in the legal field.

As for the month when Cubans prefer to get married, August occupies the first place, followed by November and February. Among the marriages made according to the bride´s province of residence, Havana reached the greater quantity.
