HAVANA, Cuba. – The Vice-President of the Council of State, Mercedes Lopez Acea, received this morning the First Lady of Panama, Lorena Castillo de Varela, who visits Cuba to deliver a shipment of donations, as part of the aid offered after the passage of Hurricane Irma.

During the cordial encounter, the first Panamanian Lady delivered, on behalf of her people and government, a message of solidarity to Cuba for the human and material damage caused by the meteorological phenomenon.

For his part, Lopez Acea expressed the gratitude of the Cuban people and Government for the efforts made by Panama, and offered the distinguished visitor an update on the recovery efforts undertaken in the country.

Nelson Castillo, director of Social Projection, and Abel Eloy Medianero, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Panama, accompanied the first Panamanian lady.
