HAVANA, Cuba.- For several days it has been spreading through different foreign media and circulating in social networks, erroneously and maliciously, news that the Cuban Customs will put into effect soon new provisions on travelers’ customs clearance and their belongings and has come to set dates and even submit false documents.

The General Customs Office of the Republic states that the Customs provisions in force have not been amended and there is no intention to do so. These provisions are those appearing on our web portal and in our social networking sites on the Internet. Likewise, the body reaffirms that as has been and is customary, Cuban Customs will always inform in advance, by all means at its disposal, any modifications that they could suffer.

Our web portal is the official information site on the current provisions and procedures and those circulating in any way that do not appear in it have no value, so we suggest to always look for the information needed on customs clearance in it and not to echo the information promoted to confuse and create uncertainty in those travelling to and from Cuba.
