HAVANA, Cuba. -The revolutionary work of Fidel and the people is an example of resistance, firmness and dignity that captures today the attention of many nations in the world, Master in Sciences Rene Gonzalez Barrios said.

At the opening of the second International Symposium The Cuban Revolution. Genesis and Development, the President of the Cuban History Institute added the people have overcome difficulties and made progress for all, despite the genocidal blockade imposed by Imperialism.

Antonio del Conde, aka El Cuate, narrated his experiences in Mexico with Fidel and described him as a righteous and exceptional man who made the Revolution in amalgamation with his people.

Jose Ramon Fernandez, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, and Roberto Montesinos, head of the Department of Culture of the Central Committee of the Party, attended the international symposium The Cuban Revolution: Genesis and Historical Development.

Che, Mainstay of Our Socialism

The validity of Ernesto Guevara´s thought and the necessity of studying his life were highlighted in the Second International Symposium The Cuban Revolution: Genesis and Historical Development, in the Cuban capital.

Delia Luisa Lopez, professor at the University of Havana, explained that Che was an analyst of Socialism to which he contributed great analysis and criticism, and argued he warned that political awareness was essential in the construction of the new system.

Lopez highlighted the Guevara postulates on achieving economic development with a clear awareness of justice, and pointed out the importance of his theoretical-practical concepts in the study of economy.

This Wednesday the international symposium The Cuban Revolution: Genesis and Historical Development will address Fidel´s thinking, the US-Cuba confrontation and Latin American integration, among other topics.
