Paris, France.- The second session of the French-Cuban Economic and Trade Commission will be held today in this capital with the main objective of following up on the goals outlined on the Bilateral Agenda, diplomatic sources reported.

According to the information, the meeting will be headed by the minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Rodrigo Malmierca, and French Secretary of State Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, who will also co-chair the second meeting of the Strategic Orientation Committee.

The meetings are aimed at evaluating the progress of the implementation of the Bilateral Economic Agenda signed by both States in February 2016 with the aim of strengthening economic cooperation and promoting business. In recent years, bilateral relations have experienced a period of strengthening with important events such as the visit to Havana by then French President François Hollande in 2015, and Cuban President Raul Castro’s visit to Paris in 2016.

Another relevant event was the opening in Havana of the headquarters of the French Development Agency to continue promoting bilateral ties in such sectors as trade and investment.
