Paris, France.-France has supported the signing of an agreement between the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and the French Development Agency (AFD) to finance projects in the Caribbean island, an official statement said today.
The press release by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the pact will facilitate the financing of initiatives in priority sectors, such as renewable energy, water and sanitation, sustainable tourism, urban development, agricultural food, and transportation.
After the signing of the agreement on Friday, July 29th, in Havana, the AFD plans to open a representation bureau in the capital before the year ends, the statement said.
The text noted that the bilateral agreement continues on the treatment of Cuban debt, signed in Paris in February during the visit of President Raul Castro.
