CANCUN, Mexico.-The 47th General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) concluded this Wednesday in Cancun without the pressure from the United States and Mexico managed to impose a resolution Venezuela considers contrary to its sovereignty.
The subject of the meeting was Strengthening Dialogue and Agreement for Prosperity, but the attempts to put Venezuela in the dock and the huge battle of Venezuelan Chancellor Delcy Rodriguez, marked the forum’s tonic.
Rodriguez refuted every attack on her country with energy and arguments, and brought to the plenary some issues of great sensibility that OAS ha ignore.
Bolivia, Ecuador and other Latin American countries prevented the advance of the U.S.-Mexico proposal, whose sponsors plan to take to the Summit of the Americas, to be held next March in Peru.
