HAVANA, Cuba. – The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, heads this Thursday a government visit to Mayabeque, where he will review the progress of social and economic works and programs.

The Cuban President’s travels through the national territory have been a priority on his agenda since assuming the Presidency of the Councils of State and Ministers in April last year.

Accompanied by First Vice-President Salvador Valdes and some ministers, Diaz-Canel has already visited the country’s fifteen provinces, so it could be said that it is now a matter of follow-up actions, where the dialogue with the population and discussions on the plans of economy and territorial development stand out among the activities.

This Wednesday, when intervening in the balance assembly of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Diaz-Canel highlighted the usefulness of these visits and the identification of potentialities in the territories.

President of Cuba Calls to a Quality and Diversified Production

The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, advocated a quality and diversified production during his government visit to Mayabeque.

In its journey through economic objectives of the Western Cuban province, the President called in addition to take into account permanently the population´s criterion.

The President talked with leaders and workers from centers such as the meat company in Nueva Paz, the Bulgarian-Cuban Friendship Cooperative in Guines, and an installation dedicated to the local production of construction materials, at San Jose de las Lajas.

Diaz-Canel was also in a processing office that allows the population to carry out various tramitations, including those related to housing, physical planning and civil registry.
