UNITED NATIONS, New York- Bolivia’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Sacha Llorenti, denounced the unconstitutional order in his country, and recalled that only the plenary of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly can accept or reject Evo Morales´s resignation.

On the eve, Bolivian opposition Senator Jeanine Anez Chavez proclaimed herself acting president, in an extraordinary session of the upper house, as the Movement for Socialism Party, which is a majority, was not present.

Only a session of the plenary session of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly can accept or reject that resignation, the diplomat said, and denounced that the coup´s perpetrators violated the Constitution and endangered Evo’s life.

The Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement expressed great concern about the latest developments in Bolivia, and urged the competent authorities to ensure the safety of all citizens and their human rights.
