HAVANA, Cuba. – The Workers’ Central Union of Cuba (CTC) and the national unions call all the people to a massive day of national mobilization to celebrate the International Workers ‘ Day, with the motto Unity, Commitment and Victory.

The call points out that Cubans will be celebrate the date in the battle for economic efficiency, which is the essential task, and aware that the workers´ contribution is crucial to the materialization of priorities.

The celebrations in the Day of the World Proletariat will have a special motivation, the forceful YES of the Cuban people in the Constitutional referendum, an unequivocal decision to preserve and perfect Socialism.

Another motivation for is the upcoming final sessions of the Twenty-first Congress of the CTC, which will pass important agreements to face the complexities of the labor and trade union scene.

Reading of Call to May First Begins

The reading of the call to the National Day dedicated to May 1 began officially this Monday by the Integral Company of Automotive Services in Habana that belongs to the National Union of Industries.

Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary General of the Workers’ Central Union of Cuba, read the document in a ceremony in which labor representatives of San Miguel del Padron municipality participated.

The leader pointed out that on this May 1 the heroic Cuban people will give a forceful demonstration of indestructible unity, together with the Party and the Revolution.

Guilarte de Nacimiento added that the workers will demonstrate their commitment and show to the world, once again, their ability to fight and firm conviction that they shall always achieve victory.
