Diaz-Canel arrives in Moscow

MOSCOW, Russia. – At dusk on this October 28, Russian time, the President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel arrived in the city of Moscow to complete the last stage of his working visit to the Russian Federation.

Information posted on Twitter by the site of the Presidency of Cuba indicates that at the foot of the ladder Diaz-Canel was received by Sergey Riabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister and other officials of the Russian Chancellery.

Diaz-Canel arrived on Saturday in the city of St. Petersburg, where he visited sites of historical and cultural interest and held a working meeting with Viacheslav Makarov, head of the Parliament in that city.

Shortly before leaving for Moscow, the Cuban President visited the Leningrad Defense Museum, where he received explanations on the Soviet people’s feat during the 900 days of the siege of that hero city.

The day included a visit to the Fabergé Museum, where nine of the 69 Easter eggs carved by famous Russian jeweler Pavel Carl Fabergé are kept.

The Cuban President´s agenda includes a meeting tomorrow with his counterpart Vladimir Putin, who recently participated in the Russian-African Summit, where agreements were reached against unilateral policies.

Russia is the final stage of the Cuban President’s tour of Europe, which included visits to Ireland, Belarus and Azerbaijan.
