Havana, Cuba.- The leaders of the Canadian baseball club Quebec Capitales today confirmed their interest in expanding ties with Cuban baseball players, which they began in 2014.

The manager of the team, Michel Laplante, hoped to continue counting on Caribbean players in the team.

‘This alliance has been very useful, which we have always seen as something beyond victories and defeats, rather as a cultural exchange in which we all grow from every point of view,’ he said.

In the framework of the seventh Convention on Physical Activity and Sport, the Canadian former pitcher also referred to the experience of bringing children’s teams in the last four years, which has generated a great impact on the community of Quebec.

Likewise, he congratulated himself because for this campaign a Cuban junior team could also compete in the Canadian-American League, which also caused a positive impact.

‘We know that now we are entering an Olympic cycle and Cuban sport has its priorities, but we are willing to continue collaborating,’ he concluded.
