Havana, Cuba.- Cuba and Portugal signed two commercial agreements during the celebration of a Business Forum between both nations held in Havana.

In the presence of the Minister of Economy, Tourism and Industries of the Portuguese nation, Manuel Caldeira, a memorandum of understanding was signed, which is aimed at securing commercial operations between the Cuban Finaciera Cimex S.A and its Portuguese counterpart SIBS International S.A; as well as another in geology and mining.

According to the Portuguese minister, the results of these trade agreements will help deepen the already good relations between the two countries, create new business opportunities and accompany the development that is taking place in Cuba.

Likewise, the First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba (MINCEX), Antonio Carricarte, praised the important exchange of technology and knowledge that both agreements could represent for the Caribbean country.

Portugal has a very important development in the geological survey with advanced technologies and Cuba has included these issues among its development programs, he said.
