A Cuban family.

There is no humanity without family, Dr. Olga Mesa Castillo, president of the Cuban Society of Civil and Family Law, of the National Union of Jurists of Cuba, said this Wednesday when welcoming the nearly two hundred delegates to the ninth International Conference on Family Law.

The meeting will end next Friday at the Habana Libre Tryp Hotel, and during its opening, Dr. Mesa said the aforementioned discipline is the most important within the legal sciences.

She also invited the participants to take the best memory, not only from the academic point of view, but also social, by finding the joy of a people facing major obstacles such as the blockade.

Dr. Mesa explained that precisely this siege imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than half a century has prevented the island from having a new Family Code.
