CIEGO DE ÁVILA, Cuba. – Ciego de Avila province had this Friday its first symposium to confront addictions, with the participation of specialists from various branches of medicine and other bodies.
Organized by the Department of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, the scientific meeting featured keynote speeches and papers related to the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and Psychotropic drugs by teenagers and young people.
Dr. Ineldo Ruiz Arcia, director of the Nguyen Van Troi Psychiatric Hospital, insisted in his presentation on the need to prioritize these diseases, diagnosing them, and treating them with cross-sectional work.
The symposium of confrontation with addictions held in Ciego de Avila recognized the outstanding work of the Psychiatric Hospital´s staff and the community project Searching for a Dream, at Baragua municipality.
