HAVANA, Cuba. – Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, President of the Republic of Mozambique, said this Friday in Havana that his official visit to Cuba is due to the purpose of broadening relations of friendship and cooperation between both countries.

The links binding us have a historical character, he commented in the Park of the African Heroes, where he was accompanied by Jose Ramon Balaguer, member of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and other guests.

The Mozambican President placed a floral offering to Samora Moises Machel, first President of the Republic of Mozambique, and Eduardo Chivambo Mondlane, first president of the Mozambique Liberation Front, in one of the activities of his program.

Filipe Jacinto Nyusi arrived last night in Havana and will hold official talks with Cuban President Raul Castro Ruz.
