SANCTI SPÍRITUS, Cuba. – Fulfilling the milking routine, guaranteeing stable food, as well as the routes and schedules of milk collection, become a priority for the Cuban livestock in the coming months, in order to recover the arrears in the sales to the industry.
According to Jose Miguel Rodriguez, Vice-Minister of Agriculture, until the end of last May Cuba reports a deficit of more than 2.4 million liters of milk in direct sales to the industry.
In the national celebration in Sancti Spiritus of the beginning of the period with the biggest collection of food, Rodriguez pointed out that more than 300 million liters are needed to fulfill the plans and to compensate those arrears.
The Vice-Minister of Agriculture reiterated that only with organization and efficiency they can recover these volumes, and the most important roads located in the dairy routes should be improved.
