Humanitarian crisis affects women and children.

UNITED NATIONS, New York. – The United Nations released this Tuesday 45 million dollars from the Central Emergency Relief Fund for humanitarian operations in Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Chad and Sudan.

The Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Stephen O´Brien, announced the delivery of these resources, which will benefit millions of people in those countries appearing in the ONU´s list of crises less attended.

According to a press release, in Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Chad and Sudan aid needs are very large, and life-saving programs have not found the money requested from the donor community.

The funds will be used in those countries for medical care and food, as well as access to health and hygiene services in the case of displaced human beings.
