UNITED NATIONS, New York.- China reaffirmed this Friday its willingness to deepen cooperation with the United Nations, to contribute more to global peace and development.

Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao made the statements during a meeting held today with Miroslav Lajcak, president of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.

The Chinese diplomat indicated his country expected the organization to achieve concrete achievements in implementing the 2030 agenda for sustainable development, and is ready to contribute to it.

Lajcak, which will replace current president Peter Thomson in the next meeting of the Assembly in September, pondered the initiative of the Fringe and Silk Road, and advocated that Beijing play an important role in supporting the organization’s General Assembly.
