Moscow, Russia.-The new hostile line on Cuba announced by the US President Donald Trump takes us back to the forgotten rhetoric in the style of the ”Cold War,” the Russian Foreign Ministry says in a statement today.

This approach has characterized the attitude of the United States towards Cuba for decades, the Russian Ministry recalls.

When the administration of Barack Obama made modifications to the line that was carried out with respect to the Island, we considered that more than a demonstration of the good will of some, it was the reflection of the failure of the policy of imposition and sanctions against this small country and lover of freedom, it highlights.

The Foreign Ministry considers that it was not a kind of ‘deal’, but a thoughtful political decision, which had no losers, except the marginal anti-Castro persons, it points out.

Now it turns out that the anti-Cuban speech continues to have a high demand. It is something that can only cause pity, notes the document. We think that nobody should have doubts: the arrogant style of carrying matters with Cuba has no future. The events of the last half-century are a clear example of this, it denounces.

Did not they teach the politicians of Washington and the politicians of Miami? the Russian Foreign Ministry asked.

We reaffirm our strong solidarity with Cuba: a friendly, peace-loving country, a respected member of the international community, which plays a recognized constructive role in Latin America and world affairs, the statement said.

We are against embargoes, blockades, sanctions and dividing lines, the text underlines, referring to the economic, commercial and financial siege imposed by the United States against Cuba over half a century.

We favor dialogue, collaboration, building bridges, as well as communication without impositions and attempts to interfere from outside in the internal affairs of sovereign states, says the Foreign Ministry.

An eloquent example that the vast majority of countries has the same approach towards Cuba are the results of the vote on the resolution against the blockade of the UN General Assembly, it says.

We would like to appeal to Trump Administration to hear the virtually unanimous voice of the international community, the document emphasizes.
