Refugees in Europe.

Athens, Greece. – The Greek Ministry of Immigration reported today that more than two-thirds of nearly 62 thousand refugees settled in the country lack the requirements for their relocation in other European nations.

Immigration Minister Yannis Muzalas indicated that only about 14 thousand of the irregular migrants found in Greece are relocated.

The European Union established that only applicants whose international protection recognition rate is higher than 75 per cent could be relocated, which apply at this time to nationals from Syria, Iraq and Eritrea mainly.

Muzalas noted that the overwhelming majority of the relocated are Syrian, and pointed out that no person who fails to meet the requirements of the regional community can enter the relocation program.
