Fidel Castro.

BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil.-The President of the World Peace Council, Socorro Gomes, said she was honored to participate in the twenty third Brazilian Solidarity Convention with Cuba, which continues this Friday in Belo Horizonte and pays special tribute to Fidel Castro.

Fidel is an example and inspiration for many; he is eternal as its humanism, expressed in its highest degree, Gomes remarked.

The opening session of the Brazilian Solidarity Convention with Cuba had as a common denominator the gratitude to the permanent example emanating from the Cuban Revolution and its historical leader Fidel Castro.

The President of the World Peace Council also said that Cuba has amply demonstrated to the world that its commitment is with the most important values that humanity aspires to: solidarity, peace and dignity.

Gomes commended Fidel´s figure and described him as the greatest pacifist and revolutionary of all time, who managed to guide the Cuban people in the construction of Socialism and the building of a strong and respected nation.

More than 200 participants from all regions of Brazil attend the Solidarity Convention with Cuba.
