The European Union ministers called for special attention to women, minors, young people and the disabled

Brussels, Belgium.-The Chancellors of the 28 member countries of the European Union defended this Monday in Brussels the rights of indigenous peoples, and called for greater attention to issues on discrimination and inequality based on their original identity.

They urged to pay attention to the economic, social and cultural rights of indigenous peoples, as well as those related to civil and political agendas.

The European Union ministers called for priority actions to confront the threats and violence against those peoples and individuals, as well as defending their human rights and natural resources, the environment protection, biodiversity and climate.

They also called for special attention to women, minors, young people and the disabled, as well as forcibly displaced persons or people affected by a situation of armed conflict.
