Cuban delegation in Geneva.

GENEVA, Switzerland.- The Cuban ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Pedro Luis Pedroso, demanded the cessation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, diplomatic sources reported.

During the thirty-seventh regular session of the Human Rights Council, the diplomat also demanded the return of the territory usurped by the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base.

Pedroso asserted that “Cuba will continue its struggle so that its society be the fairest possible, and we shall persist in defending the right of the Cuban people to give itself the political system it considers, and to follow its path of self-determination without any intervention or interference.”

The Cuban Ambassador reiterated the rejection to the manipulation and double standards in the treatment of human rights, and called for leaving the path of politicization and selectivity.
