HAVANA, Cuba.- The Director General in charge of the United States in the Cuban Chancellery, Carlos Fernandez de Cossio, warned that in recent months the U.S. government has intensified its hostile rhetoric against Cuba.
The official said it uses repeated pronouncements by senior officials destined to create pretexts leading to a climate of greater bilateral tension. He also clarified that in a very specific way, the United States pretends to defend with any resource the unilateral policy of economic blockade, which is the subject of universal repudiation because of its criminal character and violation of international law.
Fernandez de Cossio said, according to Cubaminrex web site, that the U.S. Government knows it is a behavior that is not supported by the American people, or the residents Cubans there.
Washington Retakes Failed Campaign against Cuba
The Director General for the United States at the Cuban Chancellery, Carlos Fernandez de Cossio, pointed out that American leaders attack the political and social system freely chosen by the Cuban people, ignoring the sovereign right of every country to determine their destination.
They fabricate unfounded accusations against Cuba with so-called health incidents, issuing defamatory allegations about the safety of their diplomats in Cuba, Fernandez de Cossio added.
According to CubaMinrex web site, the Cuban diplomat added that Washington aims to resume the failed campaign against Cuba in the area of human rights.
He pointed out that far from dialogue on the basis of respect, as Cuba has been willing to do for cooperation and as it does with other countries, the U.S. Government goes to fraudulent accusations and defamatory campaigns.
Cuba Denounces
The Director General for the U.S. in the Cuban Chancellery, Carlos Fernandez de Cossio, recalled that Washington has turned its back on the United Nations with regard to human rights. Cases of abuse with death penalty, police violence, tens of thousands of homeless people, abuse of children, and bombings that kill innocent civilians in third countries are reported too often in the United States, but none of them happens in Cuba or because of Cuba.
According to Fernandez de Cossio, the U.S. Government dedicates every year resources millionaires to attack the Cuban constitutional order, interfere in internal affairs and finance individuals acting as agents of a foreign power, which in Cuba is illegal, as it is in the United States and other countries.

Fernandez de Cossio denounced as irresponsible and provocative the declarations and falsehoods the United States uses to justify the regression imposed in the bilateral relations.
The diplomat recalled that figures of renowned anti Cuban trajectory have joined Government’s foreign-policy structures, capable of creating falsehoods that have been unmasked and publicly documented even by the Congress.
Cuba is a country of peace, which develops its foreign relations on the basis of respect and cooperation, which has a recognized trajectory of solidarity and friendship, Fernandez de Cossio said. He added that the American policy towards Cuba is isolated, and on October 31 the international community would claim at the UN the end of the blockade once again.
