Evo Morales recognized the struggle of Bolivian indigenous women.

LA PAZ, Bolivia.- President Evo Morales acknowledged the struggle of indigenous women that continues in Bolivia to overcome the new acts of racism generated by the opposition after the elections of October 20.

On his Twitter account, the President highlighted the attitude of Nobel Peace Prize Rigoberta Menchu, who always advocated for indigenous women to be recognized in all spheres of society.

At the cities of Cochabamba, La Paz and Santa Cruz demonstrations have occurred in recent days, in which opposition groups beat women with indigenous traits, who demanded their right to work and to move freely.

Before this situation, the Alliance of Women’s Social Organizations for the Democratic and Cultural Revolution, made up of women from several long-standing social organizations, repudiates the events of violence happened in Bolivia.
