Bolivia prioritizes protection of women and children.

LA PAZ, Bolivia.- Women’s social organizations in Bolivia support the government’s initiative on the establishment of a special cabinet to combat violence against women and children.

Segundina Flores, secretary of the National Confederation of Indigenous Peasant Women “Bartolina Sisa”, expressed the interest of those organizations to support the implementation of mechanisms to defend the rights of these groups.

This week, Bolivian President Evo Morales announced the creation of a special cabinet for the protection of women and minors, made up of seven ministries, which he will personally lead in direct coordination with the women organizations.

Morales also highlighted that with the new body, the State shows its concern for all sectors of society, mainly the most vulnerable.
