Havana, Cuba.- Spanish King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia arrived in Cuba, where they will undertake an official visit.

Upon arriving in Cuba on Monday, the monarchs were received at the Jose Marti International Airport by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

During their stay in Havana, the royal couple will pay tribute to National Hero Jose Marti and hold high-level official talks.

They will also participate in the opening ceremony of the photographic exhibition ‘España-Cuba, contigo en la distancia’ (Spain-Cuba, with you in the distance), allegorical to the relations between both nations, at Havana’s Alicia Alonso Grand Theater, where they will enjoy a ballet performance in their honor.

According to the program of the visit, before traveling to the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba on November 14, Don Felipe VI and Doña Letizia will tour the historic center of the capital, and will present Havana City Historian Eusebio Leal with the Royal and Distinguished Spanish Order of Charles III, Grand Cross Breast Star.

They will also visit centers of scientific interest in the capital, and participate in other activities in the context of the celebrations to mark the 500th anniversary of the founding of Havana.

In Santiago de Cuba, the royal couple will pay tribute to the Spanish soldiers who fell in the Spanish?American War and will carry out other activities.
