The Vice-Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Army Corps General Ramon Espinosa Martin, visited coastal areas in the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas, in Camaguey province, to check recovery actions after the passage of Hurricane Irma.

Isabel Gonzalez Cardenas, vice-president of the Provincial Defense Council and head of the Civil Defense in Camaguey, ratified that the people has the permanent support of the direction of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government in the difficult moments after the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma in Esmeralda, the most affected municipality in the province.
