Cuban caymans.

HAVANA, Cuba. – Cuban professionals agreed on the need for a new design of the national environmental legislation, issued twenty years ago, when climate change lacked the transcendence it currently has, especially its devastating impact.

The initiative is contained in a book titled The Environment Law: Twenty years later, presented this Friday in the third Congress on Politics, Law and Environmental Justice at the Convention Palace of Havana.

Teresa Cruz, executive secretary of the meeting, explained the idea was born in the National Union of Jurists of Cuba, about the evolution of the corresponding legal framework with a look towards future.

She added that in coordination with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment they call for the search of experts´ opinions from other agencies.
