Damascus, Syria.- The general director of the Syrian newspaper Al Baath, Abdullatif Oumran, advocated on Monday to reactivate and develop collaboration in this area with Cuba in a meeting with the ambassador of the Island in this Levant nation, Miguel Porto Parga.

In this sense, he pointed out, the media that defend the independence and the just causes of the people must increase their work against the disinformation of the big newspapers and chains of the western world and the distortion of what happens in each country.

With Cuba, this is especially important because that Caribbean nation has an advanced position in the anti-imperialist struggle and against any form of terrorism, and recalled the values that historical leaders such as Fidel Castro and Hafez Al Assad established in this respect in the world, he said.

At the same time, the Cuban diplomat reiterated his willingness to work on that basis and to expedite any agreement that is renewed and reactivated in the midst of the constant increase of media campaigns against the two nations.

In this regard, they mentioned the work carried out with these objectives by the Latin Press agency, which has been present in Damascus since shortly before the outbreak of the current war imposed on Syria and to expand collaboration and cooperation between the various media of the two nations.
