siria cubaDamascus, Syria.-Syria and Cuba signed today an agreement for reciprocal visa exemption for diplomatic, official, special and service passports.

The signing of the agreement by Syrian Vice Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad and the Cuban Ambassador to this country, Rogerio Santana, took place at the Cuban embassy in Damascus.

The ceremony was also an expression of solidarity between both countries, in commemoration of the 71st anniversary of the Syrian independence and the 56th anniversary of the Cuban victory at Bay of Pigs.

On behalf of Cuba, Ambassador Santana congratulated the Syrian Government and highlighted the success by the Syrian Army in the battle against terrorism, and ratified the solidarity with this country.

Syrian Parliament President Hadiya Abbas and Presidential Advisor Bouzeina Shabaan also participated in the ceremony, as well as ministers and diplomatic representatives.
