SANTA CLARA, Cuba. – More than 2000 hectares plagued by marabou in Villa Clara, are now planted with sugar cane in correspondence with the program to increase the crops and ensure the raw material of future harvests.
Norbelio Machado, official of AZCUBA Company in the territory, explained that the dismantling and preparation of land in other zones continue, with the purpose of incorporating more than five thousand hectares, unproductive before to sugar production this year.
He added that to date the greatest advances are located in Jose Maria Perez, Abel Santamaria, Hector Rodriguez, and Panchito Gomez Toro sugar mills.
This year Villa Clara farmers should sow 22 thousand hectares, the official explained.
