General elections in C uba, 2017.

HAVANA, Cuba.-The definition of the 24 361 electoral colleges that will participate in the elections, makes part of the timetable for general elections in Cuba.

Maria Esther Bacallao Martinez, secretary of the National Electoral Commission, reported that eight percent of colleges will be in private homes, where the conditions are being created to guarantee the strict fulfillment of the legal rules supporting elections.

Bacallao emphasized that they work on the proposals for creating the special electoral commissions and the approval of the electoral districts with a view to the second stage of the elections.

In this period, the official stressed, the greatest emphasis is on the process of publishing and verifying the lists of those who will exercise their right to vote, a decisive step in updating the voter registration.
