The recovery of important areas of beaches through the supply of sand is among the environmental actions carried out in Jardines del Rey touristic center, in order to achieve tourism sustainability.

Las Coloradas and Flamenco in Cayo Coco, and El Paso in Cayo Guillermo, are the spas favored with the program, whose objective is to reduce erosion due to climate change and constructive activity in the zone.

Iyolexis Correa, representative of the Ministry of Tourism in Ciego de Avila, said Jardines del Rey is a destination of sun and beach, so it is essential to offer a bathing area with quality and beauty. She pointed out that they work in the recovery of Cayo Guillermo´s dunes.

Another work aimed at safeguarding environment in Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo is the recovery of treatment plants in order to solve the problem of solid waste.
