HAVANA, Cuba.- The Director of the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana, Eusebio Leal Spengler, will receive the National Prize of Environment 2018, for the results of his management on the restoration and conservation of patrimony.

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment awarded Leal the prize for his vast experience in the research of historical and archaeological sciences, and his permanent defense to the protection of natural resources.

The delivery of the distinction will be in a ceremony at the National Museum of Natural History, in Old Havana, whose historic center and colonial fortification system holds the status of World Heritage of Humanity.

The National Environment Award 2018 was also given by the Civil Defense National General Staff, which for 56 years has worked in disaster risk management.
