Havana, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel is heading Wednesday in Havana Ministry of Transport balance meeting, where priorities and challenges of the sector are addressed.

The improvement in services to the population, the contribution to the economy, the fight against illegalities such as the diversion of fuel and the role of the private sector, stand out among the issues to be discussed in the opinions´exchange, which will include the work results of the ministry last year and the projections for the current one.

Diaz-Canel has previously presided over the balance meetings of several organizations of the central management of the State, in which he has called for efficiency, for the substitution of imports and for the fight against bureaucracy.

He has also insisted on the scenario in which the island is committed to its economic development, marked by the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States for almost six decades.
