MANAGUA, Nicaragua.- Violent groups try to create chaos and anxiety in the population, by kidnapping today a bus and its driver in the Nicaraguan capital, as denounced by the Parrales Vallejos collective transport cooperative.

Hooded individuals made climb down about 60 passengers in a violent way, and with a firearm placed against the driver´s head took the bus that traveled through the Ivan Montenegro sector, Juan Reyes, president of the cooperative, said.

After locating and chasing the unit, coworkers managed to rescue them near the Central American colony, Reyes added.

We warn we will no longer tolerate such criminal actions, we request police protection for public transport users and employees, Reyes said. During the last month, vandals burned at least four buses of that cooperative.
