Havana, Cuba.-More than 200 orthopedics and traumatology experts participate today and tomorrow in a seminar at the Calixo García Hospital.
Professors from Colombia, Egypt, United States, Mexico and China will particiapte in several activities, including the analysis of patients with injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
The event will serve to combine the teaching of new advancements and knowledge with the necessary surgical skill in the orthopedic field, Jaime Quintero, member of the organizing committee, told the media.
Participants will also have the opportunity to exchange experiences regarding the bio mechanic and biological principles of fracture fixation; as well as evaluating the options in highly complex surgical situations like fractures due to bone fragility, politraumatized patient and post-surgical complications.
The event is sponsored by the AO Foundation, a working group that studies the fracture problems and was created in Switzerland in 1958, in order to join and integrate efforts for research, community development and education about Orthopedics and Traumatology at the global and regional levels.
