PARIS, France. – The Venezuelan Minister for Indigenous Peoples, Aloha Nunez, highlighted in France the empowerment the Bolivarian Revolution brought to the 44 indigenous communities in the South American country.

Speaking in the high-level debate at the 40th session of the UNESCO General Conference, Nunez emphasized they have been recognized in 20 years of revolution thanks to Commander Hugo Chavez.

According to the civil servant, the Venezuelan socialist project represents a recognition of the cultural diversity and indigenous languages of peoples excluded for centuries.

In Paris, the Bolivarian official highlighted initiatives such as the creation of almost 2,000 intercultural schools and 65 linguistic niches, spaces to facilitate the generational transmission of knowledge and culture.
