CARACAS, Venezuela.- President Nicolas Maduro met with officers of the Territorial Defense System and the Bolivarian National Militia, and highlighted the permanent combative disposition of the armed force in defense of the country.

Maduro reported on Twitter about that work meeting in which they valued the operational deployment of the Venezuelan military power against the threats of aggression by the United States.

Last April, the Venezuelan armed forces thwarted a coup attempt   perpetrated by leaders of the opposition right and have repeatedly ratified their loyalty to Maduro and the constitutional principles.

For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on the first Latin American Meeting of Local Governments and Participatory Democracy that from next Wednesday will debate in Caracas effective policies to address the needs of the peoples of the region.
