CARACAS, Venezuela.- President Nicolas Maduro highlighted this Monday the joy in Venezuela for the anniversary of Liberator Simon Bolívar´s birth and the day of the Bolivarian National Navy commemorating the 194 years of the naval battle of Lake Maracaibo.

In two messages dedicated to the date through his Facebook account, Maduro recalled that this nation celebrates with joy the birth of Bolivar in Caracas, a city that would define years later the course of a whole continent, he explained.

The Venezuelan President remarked that today Bolivar is a living soul, because his ideals, his work and example have been retaken from the memory by the peoples, who continue fighting for a free world, a world of equals.

In this sense, Maduro urged the people to defend Bolivar´s legacy and that of all Venezuelan heroes, with the vote in the elections for the National Constituent Assembly on July 30.
