MADRID, España. – The Attorney General office of the Spanish State accused today the authorities of Catalonia of rebellion and sedition, for their alleged responsibility in the unilateral Declaration of Independence approved by the Parliament of that region.

In addition to these two charges, the State Attorney General, Jose Manuel Maza, presented this Monday lawsuits for embezzlement of public funds against the main drivers of the secessionist process.

Maza warned that the Generalitat members will be summoned to testify, at which point the need to apply precautionary measures such as income in prison may be raised.

Thus, the Attorney General Office disputed rebellion, sedition and embezzlement of public funds against the ousted President of the Generalitat, Carles Puigdemont, and the members of his cabinet, who will be judged by the National High Court.
