Havana, Cuba.- Cuba’s President, Raul Castro Ruz, and Ethiopia”s Mulatu Teshome Wirtu, have reviewed the development of bilateral ties and agreed on the good state of the political relations and cooperation, Granma newspaper reported today.

Both statesmen held a fraternal meeting yesterday in this capital, during which they also confirmed the willingness to explore new ways to further expand ties, and addressed some issues on the national and international agenda, Granma stated.

The meeting took place after Cuban President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Raul Castro Ruz, welcomed the president of the Democratic Federal Republic of Ethiopia, who is carrying out an official visit to the island.

President Mulatu Teshome Wirtu attended the meeting with Raul Castro accompanied by Minister of Science and Technology, Getahun Mekuriya, and Health Minister, Yifru Beheran Mitike, as well as other members of his official delegation, Granma says.

Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla; Health Minister, Roberto Morales Ojeda; Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, Elba Rosa Perez, and other officials, were present on the Cuban side.

The President of the Democratic Federal Republic of Ethiopia, Mulatu Teshome Wirtu, will visit several Cuban provinces today, as part of his official visit to this Caribbean country, which began on Monday.
