Lima, peru.-Peruvian doctors graduated in Cuba paid a tribute to Cuban Revolution historical leader Fidel Castro with a solidary activity in a popular neighborhood in the municipality of Monte Piedra, north of Lima, the Peruvian capital.

Numerous settlers from the neighborhood called Laderas de Chillon were attended by the Peruvian doctors graduated in the island and Cuban doctors, and the day included up to a veterinarian who vaccinated and worked with pets on parasite healing.

In the day, services of laboratory, nutrition, control of size, weight and measurement of pressure, medicine in general, psychology, therapy physical and massage, were offered.

The activity was organized by the Association of Peruvian Professionals Graduated in Cuba, the Cuban Embassy in Peru, the Municipality of Monte Piedra, the JJSalud General Hospital and the Rutas Mambisas Association of Cuban Residents in Peru.

The tribute, to the person being honored, who has always given public health a relevance as altruistic task, was emphasized by the president of the organization of professionals graduated in Cuba, William Ceballos, as expression of the things they learned in the island.

Ceballos said also that Fidel’s homeland taught them with the example, because Cuba does not give what it exceeds, but shares the little it has, and highlighted the united lesson of doctors of many countries, formed by means of scholarships.

On having given the welcome to the doctors and the inauguration of the tribute, Milton Jiménez, Mayor of Monte Piedra greeted the presence of executives the embassies of Cuba and Venezuela and was grateful for the action for the sake of settlers with scarce resources of its district.

He emphasized the humanist and unity ideals of Fidel Castro and praised the achievements of Cuba in areas like sports, health, education and culture.

Cuban Ambassador to Peru, Sergio González, emphasized the meaning of the homage to Fidel Castro for his 90th birthday, for being the inspirer of the international medical cooperation practised by Cuba.

Mayor Jiménez distinguished the Cuban diplomat with the key of the city and declared him an illustrious guest of the municipality of Monte Piedra.
