The Old City of Jerusalem.
Palestine froze its contacts with Israel following the scandal about the entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem, according to Palestinian President Mahmud Abbaas.
Three Palestinians died this Friday during the strong clashes in a checkpoint located between the West Bank and the city of Jerusalem.
The increase in tension occurred because the Israeli police imposed access restrictions and introduced new security measures, with the aim of blocking access to that area of the city, a sacred site for the Palestinians.
A police spokesman indicated it is forbidden to enter the Old City of Jerusalem and the Esplanade of Mosque, to all men under the age of fifty; thus, the Israeli forces prevented the Palestinians from participating in the Muslim prayer this Friday.
